The Bittersweet Life of a Phone Servant

Life began long before I saw the first light. Back when everything was dark, and distant sounds of water and conversations echoed, but all was cloaked in darkness.

One day, someone opened the box, and I finally saw the light, which was quickly overshadowed by a figure. They swiftly picked me up and placed me on a table. Soon after, I was unwound, and someone remarked that I was short, but it was no problem since the socket was not far from the bed. After a while, I was connected to an adapter and then to a phone.

That’s when I realized I had become a servant to a phone, not just any phone, but the great and powerful iPhone of the 14th generation. Why a servant? Because I was no longer needed by anyone else — I was called Lightning.

I faithfully served for over six months until one day, something terrible happened. As usual, I was plugged into the phone to supply it with energy. After some time, a dog came running over and started playing. As you might have thought, she grabbed me. When the dog bit down hard on me, I couldn’t endure such abuse of my body any longer. Gathering all the energy I was supposed to transfer to the phone, I struck the dog’s gums with a powerful electric shock to teach it not to mess with me.

Naturally, the dog ran away, whimpering. But this battle came at a cost: I suddenly…
